Government Affairs
The SCBP offers a series of government affairs programs in annual State of the County and State of the State forums. Most notably, the SCBP runs the Somerset County Employer-Legislative Committee (ELC) on a bi-monthly basis. Established by NJBIA in 1959, ELCs are independent, local organizations representing all 21 counties. ELCs meet regularly for breakfast or lunch. At each meeting, legislators, cabinet members or local officials will discuss important issues pertinent to business. You will also receive a briefing from one of NJBIA’s government affairs experts on legislative and regulatory issues affecting employers.
